01Time
Stay in one district first.
Four or five nights allow a local beach routine and one or two farther outings. For a shorter stay, choose a single part of the coast. Changing accommodation repeatedly can consume the time you hoped to spend beside the water.
02Road travel
Allow for the coastal road.
Distances between beaches are only part of the journey. Traffic, turnoffs, parking and the last approach can add time. Plan the day within a sensible stretch of coast and avoid a long return drive immediately before a fixed onward connection.
03Vehicle fee
Check the official TPA record.
Ubatuba’s environmental fee uses vehicle-plate registration. Read the municipality’s current information about payment and exemptions. With a rental car, agree who checks and pays any charge, including when a route passes through the municipality between other coastal destinations.
04Staying
Ask what is within walking distance.
Confirm the usable beach approach, nearby food, parking and access to your room. A hillside view and a beachfront daily routine are different things. If you want several car-free days, choose the exact address around that goal rather than the name of the wider municipality.
05Water and weather
Recheck before the outing.
Sea conditions, rainfall and local bathing advice can change the plan. Confirm a boat operator’s weather policy and the status of any trail or protected-area visit. A flexible day is more useful than several tightly timed activities that depend on perfect conditions.
06Next stop
Choose the onward direction.
Ilhabela requires a ferry connection as well as the road journey; Paraty is farther along the coast toward Rio. Treat either move as a travel allocation. Do not attach an ambitious beach circuit to the same day as a long transfer.
